Fresh compost is needed by your weeds and plants to enrich the soil. Your plants compost will reduce over time and will need to be replenished, when the plants soil reaches 50% the weed or plant such as your veggies and tobacco will look for a bag of compost and take 1 unit per day. Your plants soil level must be over 50% to harvest.
Soil can be dug to create buckets of soil mix that can be used by the composter, you can make 3 different types of compost depending on what ingredients are loaded into the composter, consult the recipe book for types of composts that can be made. The soil needs to be shovelled and does effect your stoned level and will take approximately 15 minutes to shovel a bucket of soil mix.
For the people who like to collect mushrooms, There is a special feature with the Mushroom compost barrow that spawns random wild mushrooms that can be collected , A mushroom is spawned every 4 to 6 hours and will vanish in 10 mins. If the text is set to off and a mushroom is spawned, the text will show again until the wild mushroom has gone.
The more mushroom barrows you have the more chances you have to pick or eat wild mushrooms. Mushrooms spawned from barrows are visual and give no indication in your HUD.
You can also make larger volume compost barrows such as organic compost , another feature has been added to all new barrows made will also give bags of compost and will reduce the barrow in size. The float text can now be hidden on all compost products and will show again automatically when the compost or barrows reaches 10 units as an alert that the compost in low and will change to red. All barrows now have an option on the menu to get a bag of compost if you have enough compost in your barrows. Compost just like all weeds products works on your groups, so ensure the compost bags or barrows are on the same groups as your plants or weeds

Mushroom compost bags have been increased from 35 to 45.
Pallets are used to store large volumes of compost bags, bags can be loaded into the pallet via the menu, the pallet will also deliver bags of compost back to you. The compost pallet can hold up to 50 bags of compost.
Tip: If you have older compost and want the new features, you can load the old compost into your compost pallets, then select get bag from the menu, the compost pallet will deliver you the new version.
